The Cherry Festival
In the 29th week of every year, Kerteminde’s Cherry Queen, accompanied by the cherry girls, sails into Kerteminde Harbour on the historic wooden sailing boat, Hylen, and the festival begins. Here, you can experience art, music, culinary delights, and other entertainments in the charming streets of Kerteminde.
The Cherry Festival is based on the long-established cherry growing tradition of North-east Funen. The many hours of sunshine and the relatively mild climate are both conditions that are particularly favourable for fruit growing in this particular part of Funen.
